4th annual NUDANCO winter concert!

If you're interested, I've posted the shots that I'm giving to the dance company here Tools Canon EOS 5D | 85mm f/1.2 Notes I have been asked by many how this image is so clean at 1600iso. Thats a natural reaction but the answer is simple in this case, let me explain: It's important to understand that noise primarily becomes visible in the shadows. Keeping this in mind I knew I needed to completely underexpose the shadows. This alone eliminated a majority of the noise in the image. As far as highlights go, I spot metered off the front leg and dialed up my shutter speed to nail that exposre without blowing any highlights. Conclusion:Correct highlight exposure in combination with under exposed shadows is a golden technique for capturing images like this. Hope this helps  |
